What is DESMA?
DESMA is an Initial Training Network in the area of design management funded by the European Commission’s Marie Curie Actions. DESMA (DESign + MAnagement) is the «+» in design + management because we want to find new spaces where design and management overlap and pollinate each other. Our mission is to engage academia and practice in rethinking how the combination of design + management can drive innovation, competitiveness and social progress in new ways.
DESMA is a a trans-disciplinary network of researchers and practitioners and wants to build a vibrant and sustainable community across Europe of high quality research in the intersection of design + management to be driving the discussions on the future of the field, to exchange knowledge and to support collaborations between academia and practice. DESMA core network consists of partners such as Engine, Volvo, Veryday, Live/Work, Living Labs Global, Future Concept Lab, Philips, University of Gothenburg, Imperial College, Aalto University, Politecnico di Milano and 12 initial researchers. A range of experienced design + management researchers are affiliated through the advisory board. If you want to become part of DESMA extended network and develop the future of the field with DESMA – check www.desmanetwork.eu/join!
