After the Salone del Mobile Award and its nomination for the Elle Deco International Design Award 2017, Lago’s circular kitchen has won over the Chicago Athenaeum jury.
On 7 June, for the first edition of the Salone del Mobile Milano Award, the new Air kitchen won the award for Best Product in the Industry, and in a Eurocucina year to boot. Six months later, after the announcement of its nomination for the Elle Deco International Design Award 2017, the Air kitchen won another important international award: the GOOD DESIGN AWARD. The fruit of a bold paradigm shift, this new kitchen was designed to tap into contemporary needs, putting the focus on relationships and life. It is a hymn to conviviality that, while in Italy referencing the country’s own tradition, has also won over the international community, convinced by its innovative approach.
Founded in 1950 by the architects Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames and Edgar Kaufmann Jr., the GOOD DESIGN AWARD, now in its 66th year, is awarded annually by the The Chicago Athenaeum as an international recognition of designers and producers who are developing innovative and original projects. Other MMF-2015 furniture and projects have won similarly prestigious awards in years past. The following is a short summary.
